Frequently Asked Questions
Are carbon fins better than fiberglass for freediving?
Yes. Carbon fins offer greater reactivity, lower weight, and improved efficiency, making them the top choice for deep freediving and advanced users. Fiberglass fins are slightly more durable and affordable, suitable for general use.
What makes Pathos foot pockets special?
Pathos foot pockets are lightweight and flexible with soft rails, ensuring efficient energy transfer from foot to fin tip. They reduce fatigue and improve comfort during long sessions.
Can I use Ultrafins Carbon for spearfishing?
Absolutely. These fins are engineered for both freediving and spearfishing, offering excellent propulsion and control even with heavy gear.
What angle do the blades have?

I am looking for spearfishing fins. I find myself better with slightly shorter fins than the standard freediving blades length. Is it possible to get shorter blades with this Ultrafins Carbon?
Hello Samuel! Yes. Indeed,we have spearfishing clubs and spearfishing instructors who request shorter carbon blades for their spearfishing students.
So, this is possible. Ultrafins can be supplied with shorter carbon blades' length for example 60cm, 70cm, 80cm...
Please, contact support team to share the details about the blades' length you need. Thank you
We are glad to share that, due to the large number of requests, the Ultrafins Carbon fins are now offered in three lengths.

I am currently trying to choose fins... My requirements are that I would use them in the cold waters of Cape Town, so maybe with the socks. I would also like to make sure its comfortable for surface kicks, and the fins should not be too fragile for travelling with. I have my eyes on Ultrafins Carbon fins with Pathos, Cetma Edge fins, and WaterWay Carbon fins, thou would prefer to stay in Ultrafins, Waterway fins price range. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
Hi Aart,
UltraFins produce one of the best blades on the market. At the same time the fins are offered with a wide range of different footpockets including Cetma footpockets, Pathos, Mares and few UltraFins model pockets. Pathos pockets and Capt Nemo pockets are designed to be wide inside, so something to bear in mind.If you have narrow feet I would suggest to look more into ultrafins footpockets. If your foot is standard, wide or you intend on using thick socks choose Pathos or Nemo pockets. For less fragile fins you can choose fiberglass, it is much more durable than carbon blades. I placed my order on July 17th and received the fins on July 30th. It was much faster than I expected, given that the fins are made to order. The fins are extremely lightweight, very flexible, and especially responsive. The price far outshines the competition. I cannot think of any other efficient and powerful Carbon fins at this price level.
No issues in the depth, I like the soft ribs of the pathos footpockets that allow the blades work nice and smooth. The surface kick is great. I love the fins. Nothing to add to this.
